SNOW!!!

So... yesterday, when we went to dinner, we all remarked on how the snow was finally all melted. I guess we spoke too soon, because later that night, as we were having our reading party, I looked out the window and there was about 2 inches of snow on the ground. Later that night, Katelin and I were looking at old family photos, and we each got a text message from Geneil: "Snow!" We looked out the window and, sure enough, there was snow. About 6 inches. Then we heard a THUD and there was a snowball on the window! We looked out and Geneil was down below on the lawn, scooping up another snowball to throw at us. Then Katelin ran down and let her in to the building. She managed to convince us all to go out into the snow, so we all put on our boots and our coats and ran out. It was awesome! So quiet and the sky was all orangey and cool. We played until about 11:30, and then came back to my room and made hot chocolate and steamed milk, with Gwen's "areolatte" frother thing. It's sweet, but messy if you don't know what you're doing!! After talking for another half an hour with Geneil, I went to bed.

This morning when I woke up, Katelin pulled back the curtain and blinded me with the white clouds. It's STILL snowing. I reckon we've got about a foot, maybe a little less. I wish I didn't have to go anywhere today. I like to look at it, but it gets all in my eyes and the wind blows it into the hood of my coat when I go out. Oh well, haha.

Jareth said:

"You'll have
to find your way into the part.

"And when you've found your way in, stay in your dream. ... Believe me. If you want to be truly free, wholly yourself -- you do
want that, don't you?

"Then you will find what you want only as long as you stay in your
dream. Once abandon it, and you are at the mercy of other people's
dreams. They will make of you what they want you to be. Forget them. Trust to your dream."

I like.

Aunt Jess posted this on facebook.

"Our children learn from us; our example sets the pattern for them. If we talk over them when we speak, or interrupt them, they will do the same. If we shout when we are angry, so will they. If we tell them what to do instead of asking them politely, they will copy us. If our children have qualities we dislike, we should question ourselves as to where they learned them from."

Huh.

I'm not sure when it switched from "Where are you staying?" to "Where are you living?" But it did. Probably around the same time that it switched from "Let's go back to the room," to "Let's go home." I didn't even notice. Figures, though.

Wedding Bells?

Granted, these rumours circulate almost every spring like clockwork, but I get a hunch these are different.

The couple, who have been together for 10 years and have two children, Lily-Rose, nine, and six-year-old Jack, together, are planning to tie the knot in a chapel on the grounds of their $1.25 million French estate.

A source revealed: “They’re a very private couple. It’s no surprise they’d want to celebrate at their home.”

Johnny, 45, sparked rumors he was set to propose to Vanessa last month when he was seen shopping for an engagement ring in California.

The pair are keen to keep the ceremony as intimate as possible, and will only invite 50 of their closest friends and family.

Director Tim Burton is expected to act as best man, while Rolling Stones rocker Keith Richards is also due to attend.

An insider added: “Keith and Johnny are good pals. Johnny’s portrayal of Jack Sparrow in ‘The Pirates of the Caribbean’ was partly inspired by the old rocker, and Keith had a cameo in the second sequel.”

Johnny Depp Monday

This picture comes to you, courtesy of Johnny-Depp.org. This is the best screencap from last night's Golden Globe awards. Johnny presented the award for Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture. The Golden Globe went to Sally Hawkins, Happy Go Lucky. (which sounded beautiful when Johnny said it... I burn, I pine, I perish...)

Peter Facinelli Friday

I remembered this time!

Just found these.

Me and Gwen and her old roommate, Megan, did these a while ago, one night when we were bored. I just remembered that I wanted to put them up on here, so here you go. Click on 'em to make 'em big and see the details, yeah?

This Room I Call Home

I wrote this poem just now. It just sort of came to me, out of the blue. Guess it's good I'm going to be an English major...

It’s cold in this room,
This room I call home,
While strangers and friends,
Friends and strangers,
Roam outside, living their lives,
And I’m living mine.
This room is small,
This room I call home.
But I fit comfortably here.
I’ve learned to adapt myself,
To time, and space,
To be anywhere else would be strange.
I have friends here,
In this room I call home,
And they have me.
We all have our own rooms we call home,
But we’re all at home in each other’s rooms, too.
I suppose it’s because we’re at home together.

So it begins...

Well, tomorrow school starts. Tomorrow should be a breeze. I've got only music classes. After I'm done I'm going to the Housing Office to see about a job as a janitor, and then I'm going to the Cashier's Office to see about a payment plan for Tuition. Gaaaahhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!! But it shouldn't be too bad. Tuesday I actually start REAL classes for the first time, called English and Psychology.

I'm going to change my major. I'm going to major in English, Creative Writing emphasis instead. But I'm still going to minor in Voice. And by the time this semester is over, I'll be mostly finished with my minor. I suppose my advisor(s) will have a thing or two to say about my schedule choice, but I'm going to do things my own way. Because I can. I am a grown-up and can make up my own mind. The end. Teehee.

Night, all.

I'm back

Well, I'm back at SUU. I got here at about 7:00 this evening, and spent the last 5 hours moving out of my old room and down the hall in to a new one. I am very tired now, and quite lonely, and very much missing my rice bag and wireless internet.

School starts Monday. I'll probably post my schedule tomorrow.
